Leading with Curiosity

My life and career paths have been marked by my deep desire to get curious, grow, and explore.

Exploration is a life value for me.

In my previous career, I had the pleasure of serving as the director of music for entire school districts in extremely isolated, under-served communities, in states I never even visited before. But when the opportunities came to try something completely new, I wholeheartedly said "yes" - because I knew there would be so much to learn from going outside my comfort zone.

Directing music programs for entire school districts means bringing together so many skills beyond lesson plans: event management, long-term and short-term planning, travel booking, marketing, community relations, large-scale fundraising, budgeting, managing inventory, cross-team collaboration, and more.

These experiences led me to where I am now as a designer: someone who steps confidently into challenges, sees both the big picture and the smallest details, and helps teams create cohesive, impactful work.

I Lead by Building Up

Leadership, to me, isn’t just about making the final call. It’s about building others up — helping people understand not just what to do, but why. When teams are empowered to think independently and solve problems with confidence, the work improves — and so does morale. Whether working with students or seasoned professionals, my goal has always been the same: create conditions where people feel valued, capable, and proud of what they build together.
